Church Involvement Opportunities

PRAY AND FAST

• Prayer and Worship Night
Plan a prayer night in which your church leads a night of worship. At this night of worship and prayer a Redeemed Ministries presenter can share with your group/ church about the truths of human trafficking, ways to serve, pray and how Ministries is working to aid women exploited in the sex industry

• One- time or recurring Walks or Prayer Time
Prayer is a powerful weapon in the fight for freedom. Develop some practical steps to pray for this issue. You can create a new team or partner with the church’s current prayer team. Several topics to Pray for: victims, traffickers, justice systems, destruction of brothels and “breaking grounds,” organizations on the frontlines, awakening of the church, end of trafficking.

• Develop a 24/7 Prayer Chain
You can develop your own or join prayer groups already engaged. Create a guide and assign intercessors around the clock to pray for issues surrounding trafficking. Several topics to Pray for: victims, traffickers, justice systems, destruction of brothels and “breaking grounds,” organizations on the front lines, awakening of the church, end of trafficking.

• Fast for Freedom
Call a personal or corporate fast. During fast, instead of eating a meal, spend time praying for the captives and remembering the suffering they are going through. In addition to giving up a meal(s), you can set aside the money that would have been used on that and donate it to Redeemed to assist victims and survivors of trafficking.

• Slavery-made Fast
Have church fast from slavery-made goods and products. Find out where companies and products stand in terms of proper work practices. Find out more about your products at http://www.free2work.org/

EDUCATION and AWARENESS

• Teach/Preach
Teach and preach about God’s heart for justice and the physical and spiritual plight of the millions of slaves around the world. The power of the pulpit can be used to awaken the church and rise up abolitionists who are grounded in scripture and compelled to act against the spiritual issues attached to trafficking.

• Awareness Night/ Concerts
Have a Redeemed Ministries speaker present with a small or large group. This will educate the group on sex trafficking, what Ministries is doing to combat trafficking and provide ways for them to get involved

• Movie Night/ Documentary Viewing
Host a movie night in the sanctuary; project it on a canvas, in a home or at a movie theater. Show a documentary that educates on the truths of human trafficking. A Redeemed Ministries presenter can share with the group and answer questions about ways to serve and how to get involved with Redeemed Ministries.
