Sparrow House Botanicals is our bath and body product line that launched August of 2015. The inspiration behind starting the business was to provide employment for human trafficking survivors in our program.
Once women complete our year long program, they have the option to either go into a transitional program or live independently while continuing case management with Redeemed. In either scenario, finding employment is a difficult challenge for all of our survivors due to their background. So to help over come this barrier, we created Sparrow House Botanicals so that we could provide employment history for our survivors as well as job skills they would need in their future endeavors.
Sparrow House Botanicals is all organic, fair trade products that are made by trafficking survivors. This business isn’t just for show. It’s a beacon of hope. As described by the artist behind our logo:
“People can and do recover from human trafficking. But there is so much more to recovering from human trafficking than just getting out, and they can’t do it alone. To promote change in but one person is a feat few can claim victory…It is through the sacrifices and generosity of individuals like you that have helped provide me and countless others the ability to reclaim our lives. It was when people appreciated my humanity and were present in my own darkness that I began to grasp glimpses of hope.”
